Social takeover: La Bohème

It’s Puccini and opera like you’ve never seen it before, as the King Head Theatre’s unique adaptation of La Bohème has arrived on the West End stage – so to celebrate, the cast took over our Instagram story.

And with stage make-up tutorials, backstage tours, a fabulous “brace” pun, and some sneak peeks at the critically acclaimed show as seen from the wings, it’s well worth reliving through the video below.

Adam Spreadbury-Maher and Becca Marriott’s reinterpretation of Puccini’s La Bohème is set in present-day East London, and delves into the lives and loves of Mimi, Musetta, Ralph and Mark. The production lays bare the damaging effects of co-dependent relationships against a backdrop of spiralling rents and social media.
