# I MISS THEATRE
Are you missing theatre as much as we are? Support us now with Theatre Tokens and see your favourite shows when they reopen.

About us

Official London Theatre is the number one site to get tickets, news and exclusive interviews for top London shows. Run by not-for-profit organisation Society of London Theatre, we work directly with theatre owners and producers to give you access to information, events and promotions that you won’t find anywhere else.

Getting you the best deal on tickets

Official London Theatre has two annual ticket promotions: Kids Week in the summer, and our New Year Sale in the Winter. We also bring you year-round discount tickets with our last minute booth TKTS.

Our in-person ticket booth, TKTS, was originally known as ‘The Half Price Ticket Booth’. The first booth was a small, wooden hut painted in green and yellow stripes, which stood on the West side of Leicester Square. It, in 1980, was the first ticket booth of its kind in Leicester Square, and has subsequently spawned many imitations. Following the installation of an electricity sub-station beneath the garden, Leicester Square was reopened by the Queen in 1992, and TKTS was welcomed to its new home in the Clocktower Building by the Mayor of Westminster. The Half Price Ticket Booth was renamed ‘TKTS’ in 2001, adopting the name of its Broadway counterpart in New York. To this day, TKTS continues to provide fantastic in-person advice and assistance for Londoners and visitors looking to buy a theatre ticket.

Kids Week has been encouraging children and their families to experience the magic of live theatre since 1998. Originally just one week long, Kids Week has grown in popularity and now runs throughout the whole month of August. Kids Week is now the UK’s longest running theatre audience development initiative.

Our New Year Sale was launched in 2001 to encourage people to ‘Get Into London Theatre’, and has firmly established its place on the London theatre calendar. It gets bigger and better every year!

Bringing you theatrical calendar highlights

As an arm of Society of London Theatre, we get insider access to two of the biggest events in the theatre calendar: the Olivier Awards with Mastercard, and West End LIVE in Trafalgar Square.

The Olivier Awards with Mastercard are British theatre’s most sought-after awards, and have been a mark of theatrical greatness since they were inaugurated in 1976. With exclusive access in the lead-up to the awards, we bring you everything you need to know about the nominees and, with unmatched backstage access on the night, we get you closer to the winners than anyone else.

Every year Official London Theatre works alongside Westminster City Council to present West End LIVE, a two-day festival in Trafalgar Square showcasing London’s world-class musical theatre scene. As insiders, we can help you with everything you need to know to make your weekend unforgettable.

Keeping you in the loop

To make sure you always have theatre at your fingertips, we produce a fortnightly printed London Theatre Guide, send regular email updates, and invite you to connect with us on social media. Sign up or follow us through the icons at the bottom of the page.

Helping you visit

We want to make your theatre trip as enjoyable as possible, so we’ve created a whole Visit Theatreland resource. Check out about free things to do before and after seeing a show, and find out which restaurants have special offers when you show your Official London Theatre ticket.

Theatre should be enjoyed by everyone, so we are also committed to providing access information including listings of audio-described, captioned, signed and relaxed performance. We publish a printed Access Brochure four times a year, which is also available in braille and on a CD.

Investing in the future

We support all of the work the Society of London Theatre undertakes to invest in the future theatre industry workforce. This includes the yearly ‘behind-the-scenes’ career fair, TheatreCraft, for ages 16-30, and Stage One, a registered charity that supports new commercial UK theatre producers and productions.

If you click through to seat selection (where you'll see either best available or a seating plan), you will be seeing the most up-to-date prices. If this differs from what we've written on the calendar, please bear with us, as those prices will update soon.

We now sell our famous TKTS Booth discounts online here at Official London Theatre.

We are now cancelling all performances up until and including 31 May 2020 to help us process existing bookings whilst we wait for further clarity from the government in terms of when we will be able to reopen.

We are so sorry that in these testing and difficult times you are not able to enjoy the show you have booked for and hope the following helps clarify next steps in respect of your tickets .

There is nothing that you need to do if your performance has been cancelled, but we do ask for your patience.

If you have booked directly with the theatre or show website for an affected performance, please be assured that they will contact you directly to arrange an exchange for a later date, a credit note/voucher or a refund. If you have booked via a ticket agent they will also be in contact with you directly.

We are processing in strict date order of performance, so you are likely to be contacted after the date you were due to go to the theatre. However, we want to reassure you that you will be contacted, and your order will be processed, but please do bear with us.

We’d like to thank everyone who has been patient and kind in dealing with their ticket providers so far and we are sorry that we cannot process your order as quickly as we would like.

Please do not contact your credit card company as that will slow the process down and put an additional burden on our box office and ticket agent teams.

In order for us to serve our audiences the best we can, please do not get in touch with your point of sale if you have booked for performances after 31 May. Please be reassured that if we have to cancel future performances you will be directly contacted by your theatre or ticket provider. Our producers continue to plan for all eventualities dependent on the individual needs of their shows and we will provide further updates on specific shows as and when they become available.

We look forward to welcoming you back into our theatres as soon as we are allowed to resume performances. In the meantime stay safe and healthy.

While theatres are currently closed, various venues and productions are making announcements for their individual shows, including cancellations and rescheduled performances. Please check with the individual shows for details.
