New West End cast for Hamilton announced

The new West End cast of Hamilton has been announced today as the show enters its third year at the Victoria Palace Theatre.

From 18 November, Karl Queensborough – who has been performing as the alternate Alexander Hamilton – will step up to play the title role. His previous theatre credits include White Teeth at the Kiln Theatre, Sylvia and The Girl From the North Country at The Old Vic.

He will be joined by Emilie Louise Israel in her West End debut as Peggy Schuyler/ Maria Reynolds. Trevor Dion Nichola, who originated the role of Genie in the West End production of Disney’s Aladdin at the Prince Edward Theatre will play George Washington.

Simon-Anthony Rhoden – who won the Broadway World UK Award for Best Long-Running West End Show Performer for his performance in Kinky Boots – will star as Aaron Burr. Sharon Rose and Emile Ruddock will also step up from the ensemble to play Eliza Hamilton and Hercules Mulligan/James Madison respectively. Carl Spencer, who recently starred in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat at the London Palladium will play John Laurens/Philip Hamilton.

From 4 November Gavin Spokes – who has just finished in A Very Expensive Poison at The Old Vic – will play King George. Nuno Queimado will play the role of Alexander Hamilton at certain performances.

Jason Pennycooke will continue his role of Marquis de Lafayette/Thomas Jefferson, and Allyson Ava-Brown will continue to play Angelica Schuyler.

They are joined by ensemble Jade Albertsen, Curtis Angus, Robson Broad, Ashley Daniels, Lisa Darnell, Kelly Downing, Lydia Fraser, Dujonna Gift-Simms, Manaia Glassey-Ohlson, Joe Griffiths-Brown, Gregory Haney, Peter Houston, Barney Hudson, DeAngelo Jones, Jake Halsey-Jones, Phoebe Liberty Jones, Travis Kerry, Natasha Leaver, Aaron Lee Lambert, Sinead Long, Louis Mackrodt, Jay Perry, Alexzandra Sarmiento and Lindsey Tierney.
