Aspiring young dancers, singers and even footballers have the chance to pick up showstopping skills from more West End shows this summer as Kids Week announces additional show-related activities from productions including Bend It Like Beckham and Gypsy.

Kids Week, our annual promotion offering free children’s tickets and an array of workshops and activities to get kids involved in the theatre, is currently in full swing and running until the end of August.

As part of several newly announced activities, Bend It Like Beckham is offering Kids Week ticketholders aged eight to 16-years-old the chance to learn the choreography for one of the musical’s showstopping numbers, Girl Perfect. Taking place on 24 August at 15:00, attendees will also have the opportunity to pick up some tips from a professional footballer.

From soccer to Sondheim, on 27 August at 15:00 Kids Week bookers aged eight to 12-years-old can join Gypsy’s children’s director to learn a song and dance from the acclaimed Imelda Staunton-led production.

St Petersburg Ballet Theatre’s production of Swan Lake has also recently joined the promotion, offering children aged 12 to 16-years-old the chance to have their photos taken with the swans backstage following the show on 16 August.

Other activities on offer include a Q&A and storytelling workshop with The Woman In Black, a dance class with American Idiot, a theatre tour with Dear Lupin, drama workshops with Miss Saigon and Q&As with Memphis The Musical and The 39 Steps.

Now in its 18th year, Kids Week offers a free child’s ticket when purchasing a full priced ticket for a host of London’s hottest shows as well as up to two more tickets at half price.

Activities are free and available to anyone booking tickets for that day’s performance. To book a show and activity package, or just to take advantage of the kids go free offer, visit www.kidsweek.co.uk
