Mel C and Peter Andre sing for Pudsey

First Published 31 August 2011, Last Updated 31 August 2011

Melanie C, the Sugababes and Peter Andre are among the singing celebrities ‘popping up’ in hit West End musicals during September to help raise money for BBC Children In Need.

BBC Children In Need POP Goes The Musical 2011 brings Pudsey to the West End by giving four singing sensations the chance to perform a song from a top London show at the curtain call of one performance.

The event, which takes place from 10 to 15 September, will see X Factor finalist Stacey Solomon ‘popping up’ in Wicked, former Spice Girl and Olivier-nominated Blood Brothers star Melanie C singing We Are The Champions in We Will Rock You and Andre taking on Unchained Melody during a performance of Ghost The Musical. Completing the line-up, chart-topping pop outfit the Sugababes will perform Dancing Queen at the curtain call of Mamma Mia! on 15 September.

Andre said: “I was so impressed when I went to see Ghost The Musical. It was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. So when I was approached by BBC Children In Need to get involved, I jumped at the chance and just hope that I can do it justice! The cast are great so it’ll be so much fun working with them and raising money for an amazing cause all at the same time.”

For full details of dates and line-up, and to book tickets (which start from £25), visit www.bbc.co.uk/pudsey.

All proceeds from the event will go to BBC Children In Need, which helps disadvantaged children in the UK.
