Wood’s Angina Monologues releases best seats

Published 1 December 2010

The Angina Monologues, a one-off night of comedy in aid of the British Heart Foundation led by Victoria Wood, has released the 100 best seats in the house four days before the show.

The evening of comedy, which is staged at the Theatre Royal Haymarket on 5 December, is entirely sold out, except for the recently released tickets.

The British Heart Foundation hopes the show, which will also feature “star-studded guests”, will highlight the issues surrounding heart disease, which kills three times more women than breast cancer.

“Like most women,” commented Wood, “I had no idea that heart disease could affect me, and this has to change. The Angina Monologues will bring together some fantastic funny women for a night of stand-up, sketches and songs, all based on one of our favourite subject matters, the heart. They do say that laughter’s the best medicine!”

Wood is best known for her television appearances on shows including Victoria Wood As Seen On TV, which included the hugely popular Acorn Antiques sketches that were turned into a stage musical that was performed at the Theatre Royal Haymarket.
