West End’s best perform summer cabaret

A quintet of the West End’s leading musical theatre actresses are to take to the stage at the Prince of Wales theatre’s Delfont Room this summer as part of its cabaret season.

Hannah Waddingham (27 June), Lisa Donmall (30 July), Janie Dee (29 August), and Gina Murray and Anna-Jane Casey (26 September), will all entertain late night theatregoers with 23:00 performance in the intimate, stylish and atmospheric venue.

Laurence Olivier Award-nominee Waddingham can currently be seen playing Desiree Armfeldt in A Little Night Music at the Garrick theatre, while Casey is soon to be seen at the Sondheim musical’s former home, the Menier Chocolate Factory, where she will appear in Forbidden Broadway later this month.

Two-time Laurence Olivier Award-winner Dee was last seen in the West End in Alan Ayckbourn’s Woman In Mind, and both Murray and Donmall count themselves among Chicago’s impressive list of former cast members.

When not playing host to Live In The Delfont Room cabaret, the Prince of Wales theatre stages one of the West End’s most popular musicals, Mamma Mia! The hit show, based around the songs of Abba, will refresh its cast on 15 June, with Sally Ann Triplett, Norman Bowman and I’d Do Anything’s Niamh Perry joining the global sensation.
