West End stars share Perfect Day

Stars of London’s West End, including Top Hat’s Tom Chambers and Spamalot’s Bonnie Langford, are to share their Perfect West End Day with the capital’s tourists, visitors and regulars.

As part of a six week initiative launched by the West End Partnership, performers, alongside chefs, hoteliers and other personalities, will share their tips for the best shopping, dining, entertainment and hotels in London.

A series on incredible prize days will also be on offer during the six weeks of the campaign, beginning with the Perfect Family West End Day, which includes a VIP experience at M&Ms World, dinner at the Rainforest Café, a private shopping spree at the Disney Store and four tickets to see Stomp and meet the cast.

Speaking about the initiative, Mayor of London Boris Johnson said: “London’s West End is world renowned and rightly so. Where else can you spend a day enjoying premier shopping, sampling sumptuous cuisine from all corners of the globe and top it off with a fabulous West End show? The Olympic Games gave us a fantastic opportunity to showcase what London has to offer and we need to build on this success and show why the capital is the best big city on the planet to live, visit and do business in.”

Worldwide interest has been focussed on the capital during this summer like no other, with the Queen’s Jubilee and the Olympic and Paralympic Games drawing crowds to its famous streets and landmarks.

Daniel Astaire, Chairman of the West End Partnership, added: “I believe the real business legacy of the Games is yet another demonstration that nobody can pull off large-scale events and accommodate people the way London does. The Games have been a platform to demonstrate how easy London is to navigate around and do business in. It will be the cue for London to attract international events and conferences like never before. As a tourist destination, the West End has also shown that nobody does it better in terms of the offer of shopping, entertainment and culture in one place. Visitors from both here and abroad are going to come back in numbers to stay in hotels, eat in bars and restaurants and go to the theatre.”
