Thriller celebration paints the town Blue

First Published 20 May 2011, Last Updated 20 May 2011

Reformed boy band Blue will all rise in celebration of Thriller – Live’s 1,000th West End performance.

The Eurovision entrants will be performing alongside Britain’s Got Talent star Shaheen Jafargholi and the cast of Thriller – Live to mark the long-running show’s milestone performance.

Three quarters of the Blue boys will feel quite at home on the West End stage, as Simon Webbe previously starred in Sister Act, Duncan James appeared in Chicago and Legally Blonde The Musical, and Antony Costa led the cast of Blood Brothers. Only Lee Ryan is yet to play a London lead.

Thriller – Live, which celebrates the life and music of Michael Jackson, opened at the West End’s Lyric theatre in 2009. Since then, the moonwalking, ‘hee-hee’-ing, white-glove-wearing, trilby-tossing, high energy show has been enticing London audiences to blame it on the boogie with its renditions of songs including ABC, Man In The Mirror, Dirty Diana, Billie Jean and Beat It.
