The Mousetrap Interviews: Christopher Wren

First Published 19 December 2013, Last Updated 6 March 2014

Why would the designer of St Paul’s Cathedral be staying at The Mousetrap’s Monkswell Manor? He’s not, of course. That would be ridiculous.

His namesake, who we meet in this week’s Mousetrap interview, is an altogether less lofty chap. You wouldn’t catch Sir Christopher playing nervously with his earlobe while talking to TV presenter Angellica Bell, would you?

Nor would the architect of the Royal Observatory wear such a tank top, I imagine.

But that is beside the point. What more can we learn about the characters of Agatha Christie’s record-breaking tale from today’s video. A hint at a past that Wren needs to escape from. A tension between him and proprietor Mr Ralston. A penchant for concocting in the kitchen. What type of person is he?

There’s only one way to find out, of course. Watch the interview and if your interest is piqued head along to the St Martin’s theatre to see the world’s longest running thriller.
