Sunflowers and nursery rhymes for Lyric spring

First Published 18 December 2013, Last Updated 19 December 2013

The Lyric Hammersmith’s studio will continue to host a jam-packed line-up of children’s shows next year as the venue enters the last stages of its major redevelopment.

Bringing everything from puppetry to nursery rhymes to the Hammersmith venue, the season will offer even the littlest of theatregoers a variety of entertainment in February and March, with options available for children aged up to eight-years-old.

Families will be able to choose from puppetry show The Musicians Of Bremen (1 February), The Feather Catcher (8 February), which features live music and projections, the poetry and song-filled A Roo In My Suitcase (15 February) and Stuff And Nonsense’s The Little Red Hen (20 to 22 February) to brighten up their weekends at the beginning of the year.

Moving into March, Ristop Theatre will present its show about a very small girl and a very tall sunflower, Sally And The Sunflower, on 1 March, while new takes on old classics, Old Mother Hubbard and The Frog & The Princess, play on 8 and 15 March respectively. On 22 March children aged up to three-years-old are invited to explore everyday objects in Curious, the perfect introduction to theatre, before Town Mouse Country Mouse, a tale of bravery and derring-do, concludes the season on 29 March.

Full details of the season can be found on the Lyric Hammersmith’s website, where information is also available for its festive offerings, panto Jack And The Beanstalk and the revival of Father Christmas, both of which continue successful runs until 4 January.
