Spend Chinese New Year at Lauderdale House

Published 25 January 2010

Lauderdale House is celebrating Chinese New Year with a special show and accompanying workshop on Sunday 7 February.

Dragons & Monsters: The Stories Of Chinese New Year is a storytelling performance for children aged three to eight. Theatremaker Veronica Needa relates tales from her childhood in Hong Kong, recounting the customs, food and celebrations that accompany the annual festivities in China. You may also hear the tale of a horrible monster that used to eat people, and learn the clever tricks that frighten it away.

Following the show, Lauderdale House presents an hour-long Chinese New Year Workshop, in which youngsters inspired by the tales they have heard can make their own lucky Chinese charms to bring them good fortune in 2010.
