Solimeno added to Chicken

Actor Cristian Solimeno will join the cast of Chicken, replacing George Georgiou as one of the show’s three leads for the show’s final week, 16 to 21 July.

The former star of Footballers’ Wives has previously appeared at Shakespeare’s Globe and joins the production direct from filming Ron Howard’s latest movie, Rush, in which he plays racing driver Arturo Merzario.

In Chicken he joins Former Coronation Street star Craig Kelly and Loose Women panellist Lisa Maxwell to play Floyd, the unemployed childhood friend of Wendall (Kelly), whose home he has invaded. Struggling through life in working class New York, the answer to their monetary problems might just be the fighting rooster they are raising. But so many issues lay in their way.

Mike Batistick’s play, which was first staged off-Broadway by The Sopranos actor Michael Imperioli, opened at the Trafalgar Studios last week.
