Mike Batistick’s dark and devilish comedy, Chicken, receives its West End premiere at Trafalgar Studio 2.

Starring Coronation Street’s Craig Kelly, Chicken is a gritty play, set in the Bronx, about two childhood friends, an unhappy wife and a sickly rooster who they’re grooming for an illegal cockfight.

Kelly is joined in the production by George Georgiou, who is best-known for his role in Mamma Mia! The Movie.

Directed by Sam Neophytou, Chicken is an acute observation of modern life in the city, as the dysfunctional friends scrabble and strut like cocks, fighting in the grimy, desperate world they inhabit.

Batistick’s comedy, which is produced by Georgiou and Neophytou’s Inner City Productions, originally opened off-Broadway starring The Sopranos actor Michael Imperioli.
