Shakespeare’s Women fundraise for Almeida

Laurence Olivier Award nominee Juliet Stevenson is among the list of star performers coming together on Sunday 14 March to raise funds for the Almeida theatre with a special performance of Shakespeare’s Women.

Stevenson, who is nominated for the 2010 Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress for her performance in the Almeida theatre’s production of Duet For One, will be joined in the performance by Sinead Cusack, Clare Higgins, Derek Jacobi, Harriet Walter, Zoe Wanamaker, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Ray Fearon, Meera Syal, Michelle Terry and Zoe Waites.

Almeida Theatre Artistic Director Michael Attenborough will direct the star-studded production, which is just one part of an evening which includes a reception, auction, party and dinner.

Tickets for the special event cost £150, £250 and £500, and can be bought by calling 020 7288 4936 or emailing rlyle@almeida.co.uk Proceeds from the evening will go towards raising the £1.2million that the theatre needs each year to continue its artistic programme and work with young people and the local community.

The Islington venue is currently presenting Shakespeare’s Measure For Measure with a cast including Anna Maxwell Martin, Rory Kinnear and Ben Miles.
