Santa set for magical London journey

Published 11 November 2014

Proving himself to be the busiest man in the world, Santa Claus will impressively fit a tour of London theatres into his festive schedule this year with a brand new family show arriving just in time for the season to be jolly.

Following last year’s Santa Claus And The Christmas Adventure, the belly laughing, bearded and belted icon will appear in a brand new production Santa Claus And The Magical Christmas Journey from 28 November.

Filled with songs, nursery rhymes and, of course, a sprinkling of festive magic, the production for children aged two and older tells the story of one disastrous Christmas when Santa’s Sat Nav – voiced by popular astrologer turned actor and Strictly Come Dancing star Russell Grant – goes haywire and leaves him stranded!

As well as boasting a guaranteed sprinkling of snow and a present for every good boy and girl in the audience, children will also be able to meet the famous man in red at the end of every performance.

Raising that age old question as to how the great man can cover so much ground with just one of him and a mere eight reindeer – nine if you’re less traditional and count Rudolph – families can catch the production at four venues in and around London; New Wimbledon Theatre’s Studio (1 to 24 December), Epsom Playhouse (5 to 24 December), Croydon Fairfield Halls (28 November to 24 December) and Guildford G Live (10 to 24 December). Over in Watford, the Colosseum will also host a revival of last year’s reindeer-tastic hit from 29 November to 24 December.
