Once in a lifetime, there will rise a hero, who’s approaching footsteps will cause the earth to quake…and that moment has arrived…

Roy Haylock, best known as his drag alter ego, Bianca Del Rio is going to be joining the cast of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie for a limited time as Loco Chanelle/Hugo. Making her West End debut, Bianca will be stepping into the high heel shoes of Loco between Saturday 6 May until Saturday 29 June 2019.

A hugely successful winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race, the role of drag queen Loco Chanelle couldn’t be more suitable for Bianca, a real drag queen who’s received critical acclaim and several awards for her shows. Renowned for her catchphrases including, “Not today Satan” and “Beat it, Queen”, this fierce queen has become of the RuPaul’s most successful alumni.

A self-proclaimed “clown in a gown,” she received the Best New Television Personality Award from NewNowNext in 2014 and made Variety magazine’s list of Top 10 Comics To Watch for 2015. The New York Times called her the “Joan Rivers of the Drag World”, and even Joan Rivers herself complimented Bianca’s incredible talent.

Bianca Del Rio said: “I’m absolutely ecstatic to be joining the brilliant cast of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie! What better way to return to the musical theatre stage than in a WEST END production?! It’s such an incredible honour.  Helen Mirren beat me to playing Queen Elizabeth, so I accepted the role of the next best admired queen… Loco Chanelle!”.

Nica Burns, Producer of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie said: “We are so excited to have a genuine drag queen playing the part of Loco Chanelle/Hugo for the first time. Bianca Del Rio is a queen amongst queens, a world-famous, RuPaul’s Drag Race winner.  This is her West End debut and while dazzling us as Loco Chanelle, she will also be channelling her inner actor in the double role of Hugo”.

A hugely successful winner of Ru Paul’s Drag Race, this won’t be the first time Bianca has come to London. She’s previously performed in her own sold-out tours across the UK and is about to become the first drag queen to ever headline London’s Wembley Arena with a solo show.

As well as previously performing in three solo stand-up tours (and currently touring her fourth), Bianca has also appeared in two feature films (both available on Netflix), and recently wrote her first book: Blame It On Bianca Del Rio: The Expert on Nothing With an Opinion on Everything.

Bianca will take over the role of Hugo/Loco Chanel from Shane Richie on 6 May. This is also the date when Faye Tozer will begin her run as Jamie’s teacher, Miss Hedge.
