Rat Pack comes for Christmas

First Published 28 July 2011, Last Updated 28 July 2011

Frank, Sammy and Dean will offer the West End another dose of seasonal crooning this festive season when The Rat Pack Live From Las Vegas plays at the Wyndham’s theatre from 20 December to 21 January.

The show, which has previously enjoyed several runs in London as well as a number of one-off dates, takes audiences back to the glamorous world of the Sands Hotel in Las Vegas in the late 1950s and 60s when the Rat Pack – Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr and Dean Martin – entertained crowds with their slick brand of performance.

The song-packed show includes the classic big band tunes Mr Bojangles, I’ve Got You Under My Skin, That’s Amore, New York New York and Me And My Shadow.

From the start of the musical’s run at the Wyndham’s theatre to 7 January, the show will present its seasonal edition, Christmas With The Rat Pack, which also includes the festive numbers Baby It’s Cold Outside, Let It Snow, Winter Wonderland and Auld Lang Syne.

From 9 January the tinsel and snow spray will be packed away for another year as the trio returns to its regular collection of croon-tastic tunes for the rest of the run.

Currently playing at the Wyndham’s theatre is Much Ado About Nothing, which ends its run on 3 September, to be followed by Vanessa Redgrave in Driving Miss Daisy from 26 September to 17 December.
