Raine and Storry join Ghosts at Duchess

Published 11 December 2009

Jessica Raine, Harry Treadaway and Malcolm Storry are to join Iain Glen’s new production of Ibsen’s Ghosts at the Duchess theatre in February.

The trio will appear alongside Lesley Sharp as Mrs Alving and Glen, who plays as Pastor Manders as well as making his directorial debut with the production.

Jessica Raine is a young actor who has been making her name on the stage of late, having appeared in Simon Stephens’s Harper Regan and David Hare’s Gethsemane at the National Theatre, as well as Stephens’s latest play Punk Rock at the Lyric Hammersmith. The RADA graduate’s screen work includes Ridley Scott’s forthcoming film Robin Hood.

Treadaway made his stage debut earlier this year in Mark Ravenhill’s Over There at the Royal Court, in which he starred with his twin brother Luke. The young actor also has screen credits including Recovery with David Tennant and Afterlife alongside Ghosts co-star Sharp.

They are joined by veteran stage actor Storry, who plays Engstrand. The actor has numerous West End stage credits to his name, including, in recent years, The War That Still Goes On at the Novello theatre, Oedipus and The Royal Hunt Of The Sun at the National Theatre, Life Is A Dream at the Donmar Warehouse and Gandalf in the stage musical of The Lord Of The Rings at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane.

Ghosts opens at the Duchess theatre on 23 February after previews from 11 February and runs until 15 May. It follows Morecambe, which ends on 17 January and late-night show A Guide To Sexual Misery which runs over the festive period.
