Potted Potter returns to West End

Potty performers Dan and Jeff will return to the West End this summer as part of the fifth anniversary tour of their first show, Potted Potter.

The comedy show, which sees the duo recreate the stories from all seven Harry Potter books in just over an hour, will play at the Garrick theatre from 18 to 29 August following a stay at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, where it has previously enjoyed four visits.

Former CBBC presenters and Blue Peter storytellers Daniel Clarkson and Jefferson Turner first came up with the idea for their Potted shows when asked to create a five-minute performance for a bookshop to launch the sixth book in JK Rowling’s Harry Potter series. Developed from those modest beginnings, Potted Potter has since been seen in the West End on three occasions and toured both in the UK and abroad.

Dan and Jeff have since returned to the West End with Potted Pirates and, last Christmas, Potted Panto, which collected a 2011 Olivier Award nomination for Best Entertainment.

Currently playing at the Garrick theatre is The Hurly Burly Show, which ends its run on 1 May. That is to be followed by Rupert Everett and Kara Tointon in Pygmalion, which is scheduled to play from 12 May to 8 September.
