First Published 23 March 2010, Last Updated 1 August 2018

According to data supplied by Official London Theatre’s video partners ReelKandi, 113,476 excited theatre fans tuned in to see the Laurence Olivier Awards streamed live online on Sunday evening.

A UK audience of 85,356 and an international audience of 28,120 saw Theatreland’s most prestigious awards ceremony live on Official London Theatre, experiencing the thrill of the winners’ announcements and the stunning performances as they happened.

The astounding viewer figures followed a build up to the 2010 Laurence Olivier Awards ceremony that saw 58,000 votes cast by users of Official London Theatre to crown Wicked as the winner of the Audience Award for Most Popular Show.

The internet buzz around the ceremony was so overwhelming that on Sunday evening, on micro-blogging site Twitter, where theatre fans were chatting and voicing opinions about the night’s winners, the awards represented four of the 10 most talked about topics in the UK.

If you missed the ceremony on Sunday, Official London Theatre now has exclusive extended highlights, including performances from the casts of Hello Dolly!, Sister Act and Priscilla Queen Of The Desert The Musical, Hannah Waddingham, Jodie Prenger, Melanie C, Iwan Rheon and Lucy May Barker, and the combined casts of the touring and London productions of Les Misérables.

In addition to the exclusive highlights package, Official London Theatre also has a comprehensive list of who won which award, photos of the night’s glamorous guests, news stories and exclusive quotes from the 2010 Laurence Olivier Award winners.
