Last night, Milly and Richard from our Official London Theatre team went to experience Walden #BackOnStage at the Harold Pinter Theatre starring Gemma Arterton (Quantum of Solace), Fehinti Balogun (Juliet, Naked) and Lydia Wilson (The Duchess of Malfi). It certainly didn’t disappoint with the two describing it as “a really really great play” that tackles a “lot of big issues that normal people go through.”

From the incredibly powerful curtain call on the opening night, we could already tell it’s a show not to be missed.

This brand new play is all about a Cassie, A NASA botanist and her relationship with her estranged twin sister, Stella. Old wounds resurface as the sisters attempt to pick up the pieces of the rivalry that broke them apart.

Richard and Milly’s post-show thoughts gave a special kudos to the incredibly talented cast.

Walden is a debut play by Amy Berryman and forms a part of Sonia Friedman Production’s RE:EMERGE season which celebrates plays for a new world and creates a space for vital, new voices and fresh talent in the West End and beyond, working alongside some of the industry’s greatest theatremakers and artists.

Supported by Arts Council England, RE:EMERGE will support the theatre-makers of the future, provide vital work for the freelance community and celebrate the live experience as we begin to build back to the full reopening of British Theatre.

Other productions forming part of the season include Yasmin Joseph’s J’OUVERT, directed by Rebekah Murrell, starring Annice Boparai, Gabrielle Brooks, Sapphire Joy and Zuyane Russell and Joseph Charlton’s ANNA X, directed by Daniel Raggett, starring Emma Corrin and Nabhaan Rizwan.

Check out the magical footage from the opening night of the RE:EMERGE season above and if you’d like to see Walden on stage, be sure to book your tickets as it’s playing for a limited time only.
