Once again, we’ve rounded up the best London theatre news today for you. Check out what’s been going on in Theatreland this rainy Monday!

& Juliet have released never seen before production images, getting us all excited ahead of their opening at the Shaftesbury Theatre on 2 November. The cast look incredible. The costumes look incredible. The sets look incredible. All very fitting for a musical singing the girl-power story of Juliet’s decision to live at eh end of Romeo and Juliet. Told, of course, through sugary-sweet pop hits and energetic dance numbers.

The Menier Chocolate Factory announced the casting today for a major revival of Sandy Wilson’s musical The Boy Friend – its first in over 10 years. The Boy Friend is set in a 1920s finishing school in the south of France, the host of young ladies tell an all-singing, all-dancing tale of young romance and forbidden boys.

The comic pastiche of 1920s musical shows will star be directed by Matthew White and star Jack Butterworth (Hamilton), Janie Dee (Follies), Adrian Edmondson (Twelfth Night, Star Wars: The Last Jedi), Tiffany Graves (Sweet Charity), Dylan Mason (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child), Amara Okereke (Oklahoma!) and Issy van Randwyck (A Little Night Music).

Weird and wonderful musical Be More Chill is coming to London at The Other Palace in February next year. Based on the novel of the same name by Ned Vizzini, the production has a strange history – opening on Broadway after the runaway streaming success of it’s Original Cast Recording created a huge and passionate audience for the musical.

The musical tells the love story between a girl, a boy, and the supercomputer inside his head, guiding him.
