The Other Palace reopened its doors in February 2017 as a home for musical theatre. Discovering, developing and reimagining musical theatre is at the heart of what The Other Palace is about.
This Off-West End theatre is located close to Victoria rail and underground station. It can seat 312 audience members in its main auditorium and 120 in its smaller studio theatre.
Having originally opened as the St. James Theatre in 2012, The Other Palace stands on the site that was left empty after the destruction of the Westminster Theatre by a fire in 2002. It is the first central London theatre complex to have been newly built in the last 30 years.
The Theatre space offers a programme of full productions, work in progress productions and festivals of new work. By day, the studio can be available for composers, librettists, lyricists, directors, and choreographers to discover and create new material. By night, the Studio offers a diverse programme including cabaret, music, musical theatre and comedy.
The Other Palace has a third space – the bar. As well as serving drinks it is also used for open mic nights, networking events
