Leicester Curve to remain shut through January

Leicester Curve put the following statement out today regarding upcoming productions:

“Given the continued uncertainty of when Leicester will leave Tier 3, we have made the difficult decision to remain closed to the public throughout January; we are sorry productions of Hair The Musical – In COncert and Memoirs Of An Asian Football Casual have now been cancelled. It goes against all of our instincts to temporarily close the theatre, but the unpredictability around the tier system is not compatible with producing theatre and we cannot continue to invest resources into projects that may not be able to happen.

“We remain optimistic our February programme will go ahead and we are determined Memoir will return to our stage in the future. Please be assured all customers who have purchased tickets for both cancelled shows will be contacted by our Box Office team shortly. Full refunds will be available.

“In the meantime, we hope audiences will join us online for our production of Sunset Boulevard In Concert – At Home which is available to stream between Tue 22 Dec – Sat 9 Jan. Household tickets cost just £20 and can be purchased by visiting curveonline.co.uk or by calling our Box Office team on 0116 242 3595.”

Alice In Streamingland: A Binge-Worthy Musical Panto, running until 3 January 2021

Well, it takes two lockdowns for us to realise how much we appreciate Lockdown Streaming TV! Alice in Streamingland is a pansexual musical pantomime celebrating Alice’s fall into the world of Streamingland – those streaming entertainment channels we couldn’t do without over the last nine months.

Alice in Streamingland

This LIVE, adult musical pantomime finds Alice following the White Rabbit down the rabbit hole into Interflixland, Disney C Minusland, and iPlayerland as she struggles to get home. Will the Evil Queen of Hearts take over as Vice President of Global TV, will The White Knight win through with his new “Made in Streamingland” reality show, or will Alice triumph against all odds as she records her journey for her TokTik channel?

Along the way, she’ll meet all the familiar Wonderland characters – but with a twist – who would have thought that the Queen of Hearts would be played by RuPaul, The White Rabbit by Joe Exotic, The Cheshire Cat by Moira Rose, or the Duchess by Dot Cotton?!
