Liz Robertson brings Lerner Without Loewe to Delfont Room

First Published 24 May 2017, Last Updated 24 May 2017

One of Britain’s most loved leading ladies, Liz Robertson, star of My Fair Lady, Phantom Of The Opera and Love Never Dies, is bringing her renowned cabaret Lerner Without Loewe to The Delfont Room this June.

Liz met Alan Jay Lerner, who was to become her husband, when she played Eliza in Cameron Mackintosh’s first revival of My Fair Lady. She has also appeared in Song And Dance, Side By Side By Sondheim, The Sound Of Music, A Little Night Music, Hairspray, The Phantom Of The Opera and Love Never Dies.

In the lead up to Lerner’s centenary in 2018, the affectionate tribute to her late husband aims to illustrate that although his partnership with Loewe is recognised as one of the great creative powerhouses, Alan also wrote shows with many other composers, some of which include On A Clear Day and Carmelina with Burton Lane, Love Life with Kurt Weill, Dance A Little Closer with Charles Strouse and 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue with Leonard Bernstein.

Lerner Without Loewe will play at The Delfont Room in the Prince of Wales Theatre on Sunday 4 June at 5pm.

More information about the show, and tickets, can be found on the Delfont Mackintosh website.
