La Soirée reveals winter line-up

First Published 21 September 2015, Last Updated 21 September 2015

From bowler hat-wearing gents with a knack for spinning around lampposts to contortionists with unusual uses for a tennis racket, cabaret hit La Soirée’s alternative festive fun will return in all its quirky glory for a sixth year running this winter.

Following its triumph at this year’s Olivier Awards, the Best Entertainment Award-winning hit will return to its decadent La Soirée Spiegeltent on the South Bank for a limited run from 27 October to 17 January.

Now a staple in the capital’s Christmas line-up, the very adult cabaret sensation has travelled the world with its “fabulously dysfunctional family” in tow, with more than 150 acts having performed as part of its jaw-dropping show worldwide.

For its London return, La Soirée has attracted a suitably eclectic group of returning favourites and newcomers alike, with the entertainment ranging from mesmerising aerial acrobatics to kooky comedy and hula hooping magic.

Highlights include the return of acrobatic duo The English Gents, clowning queen Mooky, Freddie Mercury reincarnate juggler Mario and the hilarious contortionist Captain Frodo.

There will also be a “sexual gentleman” in the form of drama school dropout meets circus school graduate Asher Treleaven, new wave, punked-up aerial ballet from New York’s Bret Pfister and rising star cabaret siren Yammel Rodriguez.

More acts are still to be announced ahead of its winter London residency.
