Keep on Dirty Dancing

First Published 17 April 2008, Last Updated 15 May 2008

Fans of the classic 80s movie Dirty Dancing who haven’t yet been able to see the smash hit stage version at the Aldwych have got a chance to get their hands on tickets from today.

The smash-hit musical has extended booking until Saturday 18 October 2008, with tickets on sale now.

Dirty Dancing follows teenager Frances ‘Baby’ Houseman as she arrives at Kellerman’s holiday resort with her family in the long hot summer of 1963. The story of Baby and the headstrong dancer she falls for, Johnny Castle, who teaches at the camp but really loves dirty dancing, includes the songs Do You Love Me? Hungry Eyes and (I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life.

The musical, which opened in October last year, completely sold out the first months of the show. Since then, over 250, 000 people have seen the show.
