In pictures: The Oliviers In Concert

Published 26 January 2016

Scarlett Strallen and Michael Ball dueting on The Phantom Of  The Opera’s All I Ask Of You, Katie Brayben rocking out the title song from Beautiful – The Carole King Musical, Clive Rowe bringing down the house with Guys And Dolls’ Sit Down You’re Rocking The Boat; every performance from The Oliviers In Concert was a highlight.

The phenomenal show, staged at the Royal Festival Hall to celebrate 40 years of the UK’s most prestigious theatre awards, was more cracking than a walnut at Christmas and a fitting way to begin 2016’s celebrations of this milestone Oliviers year.

If you couldn’t get tickets to the show or listen live on BBC Radio 3, you can still catch up the performance on the BBC Radio iPlayer.

But while the on stage action was stupendous, photographer Matt Humphrey was posted backstage to capture some of the most beautiful, atmospheric photographs you’ll see of a stellar collection of stage stars. Check them out in the gallery above.
