German Cornejo speaks to us about Tango Fire

Germán Cornejo on the incredible Tango Fire

Robin Johnson

By Robin Johnson Published 7 February 2019

Passion, elegance and grace… and that’s just how renowned choreographer Germán Cornejo spoke, when he told us all about his show Tango Fire, currently playing in the West End.

Cornejo himself performs in the fiery show, which charts the history of Argentine tango – from its original forms to contemporary. He told us all about the key essentials of the art form, his vision for the future of dance, and how he approaches every dance.

Having toured internationally for the past 14 years to global acclaim, Tango Fire couples Cornejo’s awe-inspiring choreography and vision with Galeassi’s fervent passion, elegance and grace. The result is an ardent experience through the history, various styles and moods of Argentine tango.

The six couples performing include former World Tango champions.

Tango Fire plays at the Peacock Theatre until 16 February.
