Our Boys

Exclusive: Behind the scenes with Our Boys

With a cast that includes one of Harry Potter’s best mates and a Doctor Who sidekick, you’re guaranteed to win one of the ‘must see of the season’ awards and, with Lewis’ Laurence Fox and Posh’s Jolyon Coy joining the aforementioned Matthew Lewis and Arthur Darvill, Our Boys is being touted as just that.

Previews start in just a few weeks, but the cast of Our Boys took a break from rehearsals to get suited and booted for a particularly muddy photo shoot complete with, according to Darvill,“a real smell of man.”

Taking the time to talk about the show, Lewis said that despite the serious subject matter – the drama looks at five young soldiers recovering from injuries incurred in the line of duty – audiences might be surprised at how funny the play is, telling viewers: “It’s an incredible amount of humour that comes out of it, because it’s a military hospital, probably, I’d imagine, one of the most depressing places you could find, but it’s a gallows-ish humour.”

“I think it’s a about something relevant,” Darvill added. “It’s very funny, but also I think it’s going to move a lot of people.”
