Drowsy Chaperone wakes up for charity

First Published 17 April 2008, Last Updated 21 April 2008

The Drowsy Chaperone is doing its bit to help raise funds for the Breast Cancer Campaign by offering 150 charity tickets at the cost of £55 to the 1 June evening performance. The ticket price guarantees charitable theatregoers a top price seat for the show, a souvenir brochure and entrance to a post-show champagne reception at which British musical theatre legend and The Drowsy Chaperone star Elaine Paige will be present.

Breast Cancer Campaign is the only charity to specialise in funding independent breast cancer research throughout the UK, focusing on improving both diagnosis and treatment of the illness and striving for a better understanding of how it develops.

The Drowsy Chaperone tells the story of a modern musical theatre addict who is feeling glum. To cheer himself up he plays the record of his favourite musical, the 1928 comedy The Drowsy Chaperone. As the hi-fi crackles into life, so does the musical, in the middle of the stage. The production is currently previewing, and opens on 6 June.

To buy the charity tickets, call 020 7749 3700 or email cwright@breastcancercampaign.org
