Dinosaur Zoo returns to London

First Published 13 May 2015, Last Updated 13 May 2015

Dinosaur Zoo, the hit family show, returns to London this summer, giving young theatregoers another chance to acquaint themselves with the reptilian giants of the Jurassic period.

The “tyrannosauric treat”, which received its London premiere at the Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre in 2013 before transferring to the West End later that year, will see the prehistoric creatures take up residence at the King’s Cross Theatre from 18 July to 30 August.

The interactive live show, which is suitable for ages three and older, features incredible life-sized puppets that bring dinosaurs of every shape and size to life on stage, from cute baby dinos to the most ferocious of the giant predators, the tyrannosaurus rex.

Those brave enough to stray from the safety of their seat will have the opportunity to take to the stage to assist the zoo keeper during the show, with each performance also culminating in a meet and greet with the carnivorous cast.

Promising a “perfect mix of adventurous daring, informative learning and entertaining fun”, the show has been seen by families all over the world, from Australia to New York.

Dinosaur Zoo’s arrival at the King’s Cross Theatre makes for an unconventional summer show pairing, as the Mesozoic era collides with E Nesbit’s Edwardian-set tale. The Railway Children, which is booking until 6 September, continues its run at the purpose-built venue throughout the dinosaur invasion.
