Circle Mirror casts Webb

Danny Webb will join Olivier Award winners Imelda Staunton and Toby Jones in the UK premiere of Annie Baker’s Circle Mirror Transformation, which plays as part of the Royal Court’s Theatre Local project later this year.

Playing from 5 July to 3 August at the Rose Lipman Building in Haggerston, Circle Mirror Transformation tells the story of five lost people who come together at a drama therapy class at a community centre class to try and find meaning in their lives, only to find that counting to 10 is harder than they think.

Last seen on stage in Vivienne Franzmann’s The Witness at the Royal Court’s Olivier Award-winning Jerwood Theatre Upstairs, Webb’s other credits at the Sloane Square venue include Chicken Soup With Barley, Serious Money and Trade, as well as Troilus And Cressida for the RSC and Blasted at the Lyric Hammersmith.

The trio of actors will be joined by Shannon Tarbot, who made her stage debut at the Royal Court in 2010 in Anya Reiss’ Spur Of The Moment before going on to appear in productions including Franzmann’s Modadishu at the Lyric Hammersmith, and Fenella Woolgar, whose theatre credits include Motortown at the Royal Court and, more recently, Hedda Gabler at the Old Vic.

Directed by James Macdonald, Circle Mirror Transformation is joined in Theatre Local by the National Theatre of Scotland’s production of The Strange Undoing Of Prudencia Hart, which will play at the London Welsh Centre (12 July to 3 August) and Peckham’s Bussey Building (5 to 9 August).
