Christopher Biggins has been announced as the host of this year’s annual charity concert West End Heroes, which will feature performances from London casts and West End stars when it takes place at the Dominion Theatre this October.

The much-loved musical theatre and panto personality will oversee proceedings and perform in several big musical numbers as part of the event on 4 October.

Talking about the charity event, which will raise money for Help For Heroes, Biggins said: “I’m delighted to be able to give my support to West End Heroes by hosting what I know will be a marvellous evening with some wonderful surprises. It’s a wonderful way for the West End to show their appreciation for all that our lovely service folk do.”

The 2015 concert will see the casts of festive musical Elf and ZooNation’s Into The Hoods: Remixed unite with West End veteran Bonnie Langford, Mamma Mia!’s Mazz Murray, The Illusionists – Witness The Impossible’s Jamie Raven and Britain’s Got Talent’s Charlotte Jaconelli, with further acts are still to be announced.

In addition to the West End entertainment on offer, the gala performance will feature music from some of the finest UK military bands and musicians including The Central Band of the Royal Air Force, which returns for another year to form the centrepiece for the concert.

Last year saw West End Heroes raise an incredible £78,243 for the charity that helps service men and women who have suffered life-changing injuries and illnesses.

Promising showstopping numbers, unlikely song mash-ups and stunning choreography, this year’s event will play at the current home of Lord Of The Dance: Dangerous Games and Aliens Love Underpants prior to the run of Elf, which begins on 24 October.
