Children’s workshop in Open House

First Published 17 April 2008, Last Updated 21 April 2008

A free workshop for 8-11 year olds forms part of the Royal Court’s Open House Day on 23 June.

Led by the Court’s resident Young Writers’ tutor and playwright, Leo Butler, the Play On Words workshop includes drama games, improvisation and other practical exercises designed to inspire children to write a short play. It is held from 10:30-12:00 on 23 June, as part of a day-long series of activities at the Royal Court.

The Open House Day aims to offer visitors to the Sloane Square venue a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the workings of a busy modern theatre. Other activities that may appeal to young people include a half-hour theatre tour, an interactive workshop entitled Working With Masks and outdoor performances in Sloane Square itself.

All the events mentioned above are free to attend, though places are limited and advanced booking is advised. For the full programme of events visit www.royalcourttheatre.com

To book any of the workshops, call the Royal Court on 020 7565 5000.
