With only five weeks left to see the critically acclaimed, Caroline, Or Change, you are now entering the “last chance to see” part of the show’s run.

Currently showing at the Playhouse Theatre, the show stars the incredible and Olivier Award-winning actress Sharon D. Clarke, who plays the lead role of Caroline Thibodeaux.

Set in Louisiana during the 1960s, the show centres on underpaid maid Caroline (Sharon D Clarke), who works in the basement of the Gellman household. The spirit of revolution and change is in the air, so when Caroline becomes friends with eight-year-old Noah Gellman, her workplace is transformed by singing radios, washing machines and dryers. But when Noah starts leaving money in for Caroline, she becomes with a dilemma which tests how far the winds of change can ever really reach.

With a score full of heart-warming mix of sounds, with soul, blues, classical and traditional Jewish folk music, this show unsurprisingly won the 2007 Olivier Award for Best New Musical.

Written by Tony Kushner, whose previous work includes Angels in America, the show’s narrative is partly inspired by Tony’s childhood. While the unforgettable musical score is written by Tony Award-winning Fun Home composer, Jeanine Tesori.

Directed by Michael Longhurst, this five-star production received phenomenal critical praise when it sold out at the Chichester Festival Theatre, as well as its run at the Hampstead Theatre.

Caroline isn’t the only musical to be leaving Theatreland this year, with Motown The Musical, Songs for Nobodies and Company all departing the West End over the next few months.

The final performance of Caroline, Or Change will be on Saturday, March 2nd at 7.30pm.
