Monty Python’s Spamalot has extended its West End run until 12 April with West End star Bonnie Langford set to reprise her role as The Lady of the Lake later this month.

Fresh from her appearance on ITV’s Dancing On Ice, the popular leading lady will return to the Playhouse Theatre from 24 February alongside new Sir Lancelot Daniel Boys.

Boasting a career spanning more than 40 years, Langford’s numerous credits include starring roles in West End musicals Chicago, Guys And Dolls, Gypsy, Cats and Gone With The Wind.

The actress first appeared in Spamalot on tour before taking the lead at the Harold Pinter Theatre in 2012. She returned to the show in 2013, playing the mystical lady opposite famous King Arthurs including Marcus Brigstocke, Jon Culshaw, Stephen Tompkinson, Les Dennis, and Spamalot’s current star Joe Pasquale, with whom she will be reunited later this month.

In contrast Boys, who first came to the public’s attention in the BBC’s reality talent show Any Dream Will Do, makes his Spamalot debut as Sir Lancelot following leading roles in West End shows Avenue Q and Wolfboy, and UK touring productions including Rent, War Of The Worlds and High Society.

Describing itself as “lovingly ripped off” from the iconic comedy troupe’s 1975 film of the same name, the comedy musical written by Eric Idle tells the story of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, throwing in beautiful show girls and killer rabbits for good measure.

Pasquale and Langford, who takes over from current leading lady Carley Stenson, are confirmed to appear in Monty Python’s Spamalot until 22 March.
