Become an opera singer for the day

First Published 17 April 2008, Last Updated 21 April 2008

The London Coliseum is giving children aged 7-13 the opportunity to experience what it is like to be an opera singer with English National Opera.

The one-off workshop, entitled A Day In The Life Of An Opera Singer, allows young people to recreate just that. With the help of ENO staff, participants get to warm up with a vocal coach, set the scene with a director and then take a trip to wardrobe to get into costume. Finally, they can experience the thrill of performing on the London Coliseum stage – and hopefully avoid stage fright!

The session lasts around one hour and 15 minutes and is held on Saturday 7 July (choose from 09:30, 09:50 or 10:45) and Saturday 14 July (at 09:30 or 09:50). Tickets cost £4. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

For more information and to book, call 0870 145 2200 or visit www.eno.org/education.
