Based on the five-time Academy Award nominated film, the critically acclaimed Amélie The Musical will play a limited season at The Other Palace this season. Following its sell-out season premiere at the Watermill in Newbury, this beautiful musical about kindness and dreaming is transferring to the West End this Christmas.
Starring French-Canadian stage and screen star Audrey Brisson as Amélie Poulain, the sweet and quirky romance is set to captivate audiences all over again.
Follow the whimsical story of a young woman whose unconventional upbringing leaves her sweet but shy. Though she spends most of her time quietly daydreaming, Amélie slowly begins to spread her gift for helping others with small but extraordinary acts of kindness. When she finally gets a chance at happiness and love, she realises she must risk everything and speak loudly about how she really feels.
This screen to stage adaption is beautifully written by Jean-Pierre Jeunet and Guillaume Laurant, directed by Michael Fentiman, and features music by Hem’s Daniel Messé, lyrics by Nathan Tysen and Daniel Messé.
Come and be inspired by this imaginative dreamer who finds her voice, discovers the power of connection and sees possibilities around every corner. Although times are hard for dreamers, Amélie is someone to believe in.
