Williams extends Chicago stay

First Published 24 August 2009, Last Updated 24 August 2009

Michelle Williams, the former Destiny’s Child singer currently bringing her own razzle dazzle to the London stage by playing Roxie Hart in Chicago, has extended her run in the hit musical until 12 September.

The Grammy Award-winning American performer was originally scheduled to bring her West End debut to a close last weekend.

Williams is joined in the cast by returning Chicago regulars Tiffany Graves (Velma Kelly) and Ian Kelsey (Billy Flynn).

Currently playing its 12th year in London’s Theatreland, the Laurence Olivier Award-winning Chicago tells the tale of two murderous showgirls who, aided by the fast-talking, media-manipulating lawyer Billy Flynn, use their infamy to increase their fame.
