How does it feel to be nominated for an Olivier Award? Chances are most of us will never know the feeling.

So when we had the chance to ask the theatre stars who found out they’d been nominated just minutes earlier, we couldn’t resist.

As the canapés were being circulated and the drinks were flowing we grabbed a few minutes with a collection of this year’s most high profile nominees, including Gypsy’s Imelda Staunton (Best Actress in a Musical), Kinky Boots’ Killian Donnelly and Matt Henry (Best Actor in a Musical), Mrs Henderson Presents‘ Emma Williams (Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a Musical), In The Heights‘ David Bedella (Best Actor in a Supporting Role in a Musical) and Drew McOnie (Best Theatre Choreographer) and Bend It Like Beckham’s writer/director Gurinder Chadha and cast.

Will one – or more – of these stars pick up a coveted statuette at the Olivier Awards with MasterCard on 3 April? Who can say? But they’re all as excited as a kitten with a new ball of wool to be nominated. How excited? Watch the videos to find out:
