In The Heights welcomes new cast

First Published 12 April 2016, Last Updated 12 April 2016

Hit musical In The Heights, which won three awards at the recent Olivier Awards with MasterCard, welcomes a quintet of new cast members this week.

Christine Allado, Norma Atallah, Jonathan Bishop, Kimmy Edwards and Ryan Reid all join the energy-packed, crowd-pleasing production at the King’s Cross Theatre.

With Jade Ewen leaving the production to focus on rehearsals for Disney’s Aladdin, in which she’ll play Princess Jasmine, Allado, whose previous credits include From Here To Eternity and Here Lies Love, joins the show as Vanessa.

Atallah, who’s recently been filming the live remake of Disney’s Beauty And The Beast, replaces Eve Polycarpou as Abuela, while former Disney’s The Lion King star Bishop plays Graffiti Pete.

The new cast join long-serving performers including Sam Mackay, Lily Frazer, Josie Benson, Joe Aaron Reid, Vas Constanti, Sarah Naudi, Cleve September, Philippa Stefani and recent Olivier winner David Bedella.

In The Heights, which features music and lyrics by Tony winner Lin-Manuel Miranda tells a story of life in Manhattan’s Washington Heights, a community on the brink of change where the breeze carries the rhythm of three generations of music. With a score that blends Latin and hip hop influences, and choreography from Olivier Award winner Drew McOnie, it follows a community struggling with hopes, dreams, pressure and tradition.

In The Heights is booking at the King’s Cross Theatre until 30 October. You can book tickets through us here
