With songs by Grammy® and Tony® Award winning pop icon Cyndi Lauper, and based on the comedy film about a son who reluctantly inherits his father’s shoe factory, Kinky Boots continues to strut its spectacular stuff in its third year at the Adelphi Theatre.

Big-hearted and high-spirited, the West End musical, inspired by true events, tells the true story of Charlie Price, the new owner of his late father’s Northampton shoe factory. Trying to live up to his father’s legacy and save the family business from bankruptcy, Charlie finds inspiration in the form of Lola, an entertainer in need of some sturdy stilettos.

As they work to turn the factory around, this unlikely pair finds that they have more in common than they ever dreamed possible… and discovers that when you change your mind, you can change the world.

The uplifting tale of success against the odds was first brought to life on the big screen in 2005, with Oscar nominated actor Chiwetel Ejiofor starring as the spectacular Lola, before its musical adaptation premiered in Chicago in October 2012. Kinky Boots made its Broadway debut in April 2013, going on to win a season-high 13 Tony Award nominations, winning 6 (including Best Musical and Best Score).

The West End production of Kinky Boots features a book by four-time Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein, music and lyrics by pop icon Cyndi Lauper and direction by Jerry Mitchell, whose credits include Dirty Rotten Scoundrels The Musical, Hairspray and Legally Blonde The Musical.

Taking you from the factory floor to the glamorous catwalks of Milan, Kinky Boots’ beloved status in the West End was consolidated in its Best New Musical victory at the 2016 Olivier Awards ceremony, proving that sometimes the best way to fit in… is to stand out!

Please note that from Monday 4 June, Oliver Tompsett will assume the role of Charlie, Natalie McQueen will play Lauren, and Simon-Anthony Rhoden will continue as Lola. Sean Needham will play Don, Cordelia Farnworth will continue as Nicola and Antony Reed will play George. Also joining the cast are Abbey Addams, Jak Allen-Anderson, Louis Clarke-Clare, Daniel Downing, David Haydn, Graham Kent, Christopher Parkinson, Hannah Price, Anna Stolli and Olivia Winterflood. Continuing in the show are current cast members Jed Berry, Momar Diagne, Jemal Felix, Jordan Fox, Rossie Glossop, Robert Grose, Keith Higham, Ben Jennings, Robert Jones, Suzie McAdam, Emma Odell, Jon Reynolds and Tom Scanlon.
