It’s simply the best news for Tina Turner fans because 200,000 tickets to the brand new musical based on the singer’s rise to fame are going on sale on Monday 24 September. This brand new booking period will extend the show’s run to 20 July 2019.

The critically-acclaimed show opened to sold-out shows, and the run has broken all box office records for Aldwych Theatre. It’s undeniable West End success has also led to plans for a Broadway production. Plus, the show will premiere in Germany at the Stage Operettenhaus in Hamburg in March 2019.

Tina – The Tina Turner Musical tells the real-life story of the legendary performer. From her humble beginnings as a pastor’s daughter in Nutbush, Tennessee, to international superstardom, the show follows the highs and lows of an industry laced with prejudice.

The powerhouse of a show was created in association with Tina Turner herself and written by Olivier Award-winning playwright Katori Hall. It’s directed by the internationally acclaimed Phyllida Lloyd.

It has all of your favourite Tina Turner hits including Tiny Dancer, What’s Love Got To Do With It, Proud Mary, We Don’t Need Another Hero, Simply The Best, and a whole lot more.

Tony-nominated performer, Adrienne Warren is currently starring as the title character and is currently set to continue her role until 16 March 2019. Jenny Fitzpatrick plays the role of Tina for some performances each week. They are joined on stage by Kobna Holdbrook-Smith as Ike Turner, Madeline Appiah as Tina’s mother, Lorna Gayle as Tina’s grandmother, Tom Godwin as Phil Spector and Terry Britten, Francesca Jackson as Ike and Tina’s manager, Aisha Jawando as Tina’s sister, Natey Jones as Tina’s father and Raymond Hill, Gerard McCarthy as Erwin Bach, and Ryan O’Donnell as Roger Davies.

So if you’re yet to see it, get ready for a rocking show filled with big hair, big emotions and even bigger hits.
