It’s not long now until farcical comedy Noises Off starts its run at the Garrick Theatreafter a successful run at the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre earlier this year.

Based off Michael Frayn’s observation while watching one of his farces from the wings that the play was “funnier from behind than in front”, Noises Off follows a hapless cast and crew attempting to put on their own play called Nothing On.

This new production will star BAFTA-nominee Meera Syal (best known for BBC’s The Kumars At No. 42) as Dotty, alongside Lloyd Owen (Cleaning Up, ITV) as Lloyd Dallas, Daniel Rigby (Best Actor BAFTA winner for BBC 2’s Eric & Ernie) as Garry Lejeune and Sarah Hadland (Miranda) as Belinda Blair.

We’ve had a sneak peek at their latest rehearsal shots, which look like they’re going better than their fictional counter-parts’…

Since Noises Off’s premiere at the Lyric Hammersmith in 1982, it has enjoyed revivals all around London, with a host of famous faces including Patricia Hodge, Peter Egan, Lynn Redgrave, Stephen Mangan and Celia Imrie.

Revived by director Jeremy Herrin (Artistic Director of Headlong), Noises Off tickets are sure to be in hot demand, as old fans enjoy, and new audiences discover, Michael Frayn’s riotous comedy about the perils of life backstage.

Widely hailed as one of the great British stage comedies, this production promises a hilarious treat for audiences young and old. Noises Off tickets are now on sale through the button below.
