Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui returns to Sadler’s Wells in Fractus V

First Published 28 July 2016, Last Updated 28 July 2016

Sadler’s Wells Associate Artist Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui will return to Sadler’s Wells for the first time as a performer since 2011, in his latest creation Fractus V on 27 and 28 October 2016.

The Eastman production is inspired by the writings of American philosopher Noam Chomsky and features an all-male cast of performers, including Cherkaoui himself. Fractus V explores the production and manipulation of information in contemporary society and features five dancers, four live musicians and a variety of different stylistic influences, including circus, flamenco, Lindy hop and breakdance.

Cherkaoui received international acclaim for his choreography in the film Anna Karenina and was movement director for Hamlet at the Barbican last year, starring Benedict Cumberbatch. In March 2016, Cherkaoui was conferred an honorary doctorate by the University of Antwerp for his outstanding contribution to contemporary dance.

You can book your tickets on the Sadler’s Wells website.
