School Of Rock – The Musical

Published 15 November 2016

No matter how mentally prepared you are for it in advance, there’s still something utterly mind-blowing about seeing a ‘class’ of spectacularly talented schoolchildren morph into rock gods on stage.

But that’s what School Of Rock – The Musical offers, with the show officially opening at the New London Theatre last night in a glitzy red carpet affair. Based on the hit Jack Black film, the Andrew Lloyd-Webber and Julian Fellowes-penned musical centres on a down-on-his-luck wannabe rock star who poses as a substitute teacher as a prestigious prep school, turning a class of talented fifth-graders into an all-conquering rock band in the process.

Proving the transformative power of music, the hilarious, jaw-dropping production left us questioning just how far in the rock universe we could have gone with the right school teacher. So at the swanky opening night, we decided to ask invited guests which icon of rock would be their ideal star substitute teacher.

School Of Rock – The Musical is currently booking until 12 February 2017 at the New London Theatre. You can book your tickets through us here.
