Russell Brand stages family event

First Published 10 October 2014, Last Updated 10 October 2014

Families are invited to join Russell Brand and a legion of tricksters for one night only at the Royal Albert Hall this November when the comedian stages a theatrical event to coincide with the launch of his children’s book The Pied Piper Of Hamelin.

The family-friendly storytelling event, which takes audiences on a bewitching, electrifying, head-spinning visit to the faraway city of Hamelin, will take place on 14 November at 18:30.

Attendees should expect to be enchanted and revolted in equal measure as they meet a host of characters including anarchic rats, arrogant townspeople, sharp-eyed Sam and, of course, the Pied Piper himself.

Based on Brand’s retelling of the children’s tale, which will be published next month and features illustrations by Chris Riddell, the event will feature live art by Riddell and original music by composer Peter Raeburn. All profits from the night will be shared among a selection of literacy charities.

For more information and to book tickets, visit the Royal Albert Hall’s website.
