Puss In Boots in Battersea

First Published 25 October 2013, Last Updated 25 October 2013

We may be divided at Official London Theatre over whether we’re cat or dog people, but cats won out fair and square this week when we caught sight of TV presenter and Hackney Empire’s panto star Kat B making some feline friends at the Battersea Dogs & Cats Home.

It’s not often the worlds of theatre and animals combine – War Horse aside obviously – but Puss In Boots, this year’s annual festive offering at Hackney’s pantotastic theatre, has provided just such an opportunity. Starring as the leading kitty himself, Kat B dressed up in his finest shiny boots and jaunty hat to pay the inhabitants of London’s famous Battersea Dogs & Cats Home a visit.

Not just an excuse to curl up with one of the charity’s cutest guests, the trip also coincided with the announcement that the theatre is embarking on a unique project to help find homes and raise awareness about the long establish London institution’s work by featuring some of the rescue moggies in the pantomime itself! Throw in the promise of dazzling dance routines and side-splitting comedy and we can’t think of any reasons why a treat east this Christmas wouldn’t be a purrfect idea.

Check out the photos from Kat B’s visit above.
